Description
This is the perfect tour for a couple looking for a romantic and
private Oahu island excursion, featuring Diamond Head,
Makapuu Point Lookout, scenic sights on the island’s south
shore and twilight views from Mt. Tantalus.
You’ll have your own chauffeur and guide who will pick you
up from your Waikiki hotel. At Makapuu Point, Oahu’s
southeastern tip, there’s an old lighthouse and a great
lookout point from where you can see a long stretch of the
island’s southern and eastern coastline.
Located nearby is the Halona Blowhole, an underwater lava
tube that spouts water up to 30 feet into the air when waves
crash into it. From here you also have a great view of the
most dangerous beach on Oahu – Sandy Beach – also called the
“beach of broken necks and bones” among locals.
It’s a bodyboarder’s heaven because the waves break very close to
the shore and often times form tunnels as they break. Even though
the beach is not recommended for swimming because of the strong surf
and currents, it’s a great beach for picture-taking.
Later, your guide will show you Kahala, the Beverly Hills of Oahu.
It’s here where Oahu’s rich and famous live, in marvelous
gazillion-dollar mansions. Around sunset time, you’ll head towards
Mt. Tantalus, a lush mountain overlooking the city.
The drive up there is already an adventure in itself because the
road has many twists and turns and leads through a tropical
rainforest. From the lookout point at the top you’ll enjoy panoramic
twilight views, all the way from Pearl Harbor and the airport in the
west, to Waikiki and Diamond Head in the east.
