These ladies specialize in teaching anyone how to surf, no matter what
your age, gender, or skill level. In fact, if you can swim, you can
learn to surf! In one lesson.
Description
Girls who Surf was founded upon the belief that a female aspect was
missing from most surf schools. Because of this, young girls and women
sometimes felt intimidated by the overly “macho” characteristic of many
surf schools. The company caters to beginning and experienced surfers of
all genders, and is especially proficient in making certain that girls
of all ages feel welcome in Hawaii’s warm tropical waters. All
instructors are professionally certified in surfing instruction, as well
as first aid, lifeguard, and CPR.
Girls who Surf teaches you everything about surfing – from wave
conditions and water safety to actually surfing on your board. They feel
this “full spectrum” approach is important – learning about water
conditions and safety is just as important as actually learning to surf.
The basic lesson is one hour and forty five minutes long, and teaches
you the basics of everything – water safety, how to spot good surf
conditions, and (of course) how to surf. You’ll be standing on your
board and riding the waves after one lesson. .) In addition, all
equipment (including beginner’s surf boards) is provided, along with
transportation. All you need is a bathing suit and some sunscreen.
Girls who Surf was originally founded by female surfers to offer
comfortable instruction to females of all ages, but remember, guys are
always welcome. Who wouldn't benefit from a gentle touch!
